Simple and quick question from a newbie!

Featured Replies

Howdy fellow simmers! First off, I can't express my elation with the 737NG on the forums too well since there is no REAL way to express emotions, but I would just like to say that with it and FS2004, climbing through clouds, I honestly get that tingly *I'm flying* feeling. . .your product is TRULY awesome! Now for my quick question:Is there any "direct to" functions in the FMC? I've been cruisin' around Long Beach and after taking off and reaching 1500' turning left to 180 to than intercept my flight FMC programmed route to AVX. But instead of flying completely out to Catalina, in the real world ATC will usually clear a "direct to" especially if one is flying east. I always want to go direct to the NA NDB, but can't figure out how to engage it. Any help? Thanks!-drew

Just upload / insert the wpt id on line 1 of legs pageand execThe aircraft will fly direct to wpt. When you enter a wpt id in line 1, you can set an intercept course (keep current track and intercept course xyz of wpt) using R6.anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com

Click on the desired waypoint on the LEGS-page, (return to first page) then click LSK1.Floris

Sure Drew, Bring up the LEGS page, notice the top active waypoint. If you need to DIR TO to a waypoint along your active route, you can type the waypoint you want to DIR TO into the SCRATCHPAD or just locate on the list and push the LEFT LSK next to the waypoint which puts the waypoint into the SCRATCHPAD, now just click the upper TOP LEFT LSK1 next to the active waypoint and EXECUTE the modification. If you need to add a waypoint that is not part of your ORIGINAL ROUTE, just type it into the SCRATCHPAD and also line select the top left LSK1 (Remember that the top waypoint that's shown on the LEGS page is the current active waypoint that you are GOING TO). When you ADD or DELETE waypoints from your route you will create a ROUTE DISCONTINUITY. So you are told by ATC to proceed DIRECT TO BTG, now BTG must be added seeing that this particular waypoint is not part of our active route, so we type BTG and line select the top left LSK1 ajacent to the active waypoint which caused a ROUTE DISCONTINUITY. So we need to reconnect the route by inserting the NEXT waypoint FROM our route list that's after BTG. Hope this makes sense! [h5]Best Wishes,Randy J.
