FMS - INTC LEG TO error

Featured Replies

HiDid some test flying tonight as well. And discovered some issues regarding the FMS handling. On arrival to ESMS I got vectored and thus put the A/P in HDG. I thought I should test how the INTC LEG TO function worked so I lineselected the next waypoint towards the final approach which was the RX-35 into the scratchpad and then lineselected it as the top waypoint on the LEGS page. When done you get a choice on RSK 6 to select a intercept course which can be seen in the bottom picture. I chose 300 degrees. This is the result:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28791.jpg http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28787.jpgAs you can see the ND is not displaying the right vector (it's the white dashed line) for an INTC LEG but the CDU is showing the right intercept course. It should be a 400nm vector pointing from RX-35 and approximately along the red line. now the vector is pointing to RX-35 in approx 180 degrees which was the suggested INTC CRS. This leads me to the next set of pictures:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28802.jpg http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28801.jpgWhen doing a DIR TO I thought the suggested course would be from PPOS. Approx along the red line. I haven't found any information how this is managed when in HDG SEL but the above course seems to be incorrect. Can someone shed some light on this?Regards,
