August 11, 200322 yr The inbound course of this holding is exactly the heading forthe next waypoint. When you are now tracking the inbound legand then exit the hold to proceed to your next waypoint thereis no need to make any heading change in this example. Butlook how weired the FMC is handling that. Doesnt make any senseto me. I am confused.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29974.jpgDavid P.EDDW
August 14, 200322 yr That's a buglet in the actual drawing of the hold pattern. If you fly it it will not follow the curve at exit point. We know about that one.anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
August 17, 200322 yr @anthonyI had the problem to exit the holding when I press "exit hold" the FMC says "armed" but I don
August 17, 200322 yr If memory serves, "Armed" is simply telling you that it has registered your request and will do so as you come around to the exit point. Just sit back and relax, you will exit.Ray
August 18, 200322 yr thanks, Ray ;)I think, Ansgar would like to know (and I'm also interested in the answer), if you can *abort* a holding, if you want/need to ?HansJuergen
August 18, 200322 yr I don't know what you mean exactly? You can EXIT a holding at anytime, do you mean if you can abort the EXIT ARMED and resume the current hold? On the real aircraft there are a few ways to exit a hold. One way would be to DIR TO on the LEGS page which would clear the hold (Not modelled yet but will be). Once you EXCU EXIT ARMED Lnav should DIR TO from the aircraft's present position regardless or PPOS in the hold pattern. [h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 18, 200322 yr Randy, others, off the top of my head (I don't have the sim where I am), I *think* one can DIR TO to get out of a hold...anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
August 18, 200322 yr I can`t find DIR TO either, I have to take another look. Guess there is a reason I have gotten into the habit of putting a WP down in scratchpad, and smack it in on top of another WP in the LEGS page. This usually works fine, but I also had some weird results with this recently, my flightplan just blew up :+
August 18, 200322 yr DIR TO is just done by LSK'ing a waypoint into the top position on the LEGS page.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 18, 200322 yr It`s what I do :)But don`t try this if you (accidentally) have a double waypoint.
