Maintaining V2+15 climb speed

Featured Replies

I am having problems maintaining V2+15 climb speed, (in my case V2 was 129 knots 10-flaps) it always seems to reach a much greater speed unless I pitch the aircraft around 20+ deg, is this normal? It seems the nose is pointing way up like a rocket, then when reaching 1000FT I turn on the AP-LNAV-VNAV and the pitch seems about right.BTW thanks for the GREAT aircraft! Many hours of enjoyment!Paul Cartier

Paul,Three good procedures I have learnt to make a smooth take off:1. Derate T/O thrust. The NG is overpowered.2. Rotate to approx 15 degrees. The angle depends on T/O thrust, load, CoG, winds etc. Small corrections.3. Don't try to "chase" the FD bars.Good luck,
