August 30, 200322 yr Hello! Hit the INIT REF button on the CDU and choose a VREF by selecting a RIGHT LSK button next to a VREF flaps/SPD, after pushing the LSK the REF font will turn LARGE indicating that it is the selected VREF. Normal landing is flaps 30 or 40, your choice...[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 30, 200322 yr One little gotcha here, and I am not sure it applies to the 737 version of the FMC.Once you lock in your flaps setting here, the Vref is calculated based on the aircraft weight when you click the button. It is not dynamic, so if you lock in your Vref then go dancing off burning fuel for a while, you will end up coming in hot as the Vref is for a heavier plane. Make sure you reset it if such is the case.Ray
August 30, 200322 yr It's true it's based on gross weight. The real FMC does not update the VREF once it's selected. If you need to reset it you will need to:a: Select another VREF by line selecting orb: Delete the current VREF [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
