September 6, 200322 yr Hi,PMDG 737tng will not allow FSNavigator to control the auto pilot and fly the fsnav flight plan.It operates the default 737-400 okay.I am using FS9 with FSNavigator ver. 4.6Flight plan loaded in FSNavigatorPrior to take-off, I set the following:FD = onAuto throttle set.Heading = runway headingSpeed = 170 KnotsAlt =5000'After take-off and above 400' AGL I hit the Auto pilot button followed by the Speed and altitude buttons. I then press F9 for the FSNav screen then press the Fly FP button.FSNav gives the audible signal when it reaches a waypoint but will not follow either the track or altitude.I have to manage the settings manualy.I have not opened / initialised the FMC.I was wandering if anyboby have / is having a similar problem. Perhaps I am Not doing something correctly. Thanks,Mal
September 6, 200322 yr Moderator Mal,The PMDG uses a specialist autopilot that other software cannot control. FSNav can only control the autopilots of default FS aircraft. You really should be using the FMC to control the aircraft.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). September 6, 200322 yr Many thanks for the info.I am having a problem with Vnav on the descent and approach.I am trying to master a short flight from egcc to eghh but it falls foul once I try to descend. I am following Fred's tutorial so hopefully it might show where I am going wrong.ThanksMal
September 6, 200322 yr Moderator Hi Mal,You're not alone in having VNav problems. You might find the info in this discussion helpful.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=136&topic_id=17393&mesg_id=17393&page=2 I'm now a lot happier controlling the aircraft after that discussion. Take note of the altitude and speed constraint rules. Those are critical to the aircraft behaving as it should.Remember to reset the MCP altitude to around 3000 before ToD. Otherwise the aircraft will not descend.Currently flying EGCC-LEMG using my new-found knowledge.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). September 6, 200322 yr Ray,Just completed my flight egcc to eghh. I followed Fred's tutorial more closely especially prior to TOD and after Vnav disconnects.Everything went well.I'll take a look at the discussion you mentioned. Thanks,Mal
