September 7, 200322 yr Hello everyone.I bought your great product 737NG and when I was messing arounf with the new "toy" I tried to do some circuits to see how the systems performed. I followed the mini-tutorials for quick familiarization and tried to fly a full ILS. First a normal ILS and second a full CATIII autoland. The first approach was ok but in the second, about half way of the ILS path (both LOC and GS locked), the aircraft just begun to drift away to the left of the localizer. However it remained locked on the GS and performed a perfect slope but landed to the left of the runway. I stop and did some read in the manuals, and full flight tutorials (Fred Clausen). I did not know what caused such behaviour but one thing I noticed: yaw damper was ON. Now I did several ils autolands with yaw damper OFF and never noticed such behaviour again. However there's no metion about this, ad according to Fred's tutorial, yaw dampener is ON during approach. Is it possible the yaw damper to cause the drift away from the LOC?Well, I'll try to manage an ILS with YD ON to see what happens.Thank you for reading this.Comments are appreciated.Best regards,P.S.- BTW i have SU1.1 installed.Pedro Portugalhttp://simvideos.home.sapo.pt Pedro Lima"The sky is the home of birds... we are just guests... guests of honor" Peter Besenyei"...redundancy is very important in aviation; that is why airplanes have 2 wings instead of 1!" September 11, 200322 yr Author As no one replied to this thread, I tried to figure out for myself what was going on. I read the manuals and try to follow everything step-by-step. Well I must say that this behaviour did not happened anymore.Thank you for your time.Pedro Portugalhttp://simvideos.home.sapo.pt Pedro Lima"The sky is the home of birds... we are just guests... guests of honor" Peter Besenyei"...redundancy is very important in aviation; that is why airplanes have 2 wings instead of 1!"
