I cannot get the speed to be maintained by the IAS speed set control.Nothing illuminates when I select the nearby switch, perhaps it shouldnt. I dont know,Incidently only one of the displays can be resized. Th left one (thank god) but why cannot the right hand one be. I thought it should have because the idea I guess is to place it on a seperate monitor. Is there a document on this thing anywhere to answer these questions so I dont have to bother people again?Kind regardsto allNigel Smith

Hey Nigel, This forum is for questions so feel free to ask as many as you like ;) When you set the speed in the IAS/MACH window are you also turning on a autopilot? Take a look at my screenie and what is turned on on the MCP. Make sure that the GENERATORS are on from the overhead or you will not be able to get the A/T to engage.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36182.jpg[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. LOL....Looking at the green speed trend vector, Randy...it looks like you are also having trouble getting the A/T to maintain speed :-)BTW, according to the Boeing Maintenance Manual, the speed trend vector shows the "...predicted airspeed in 10 seconds based on current acceleration or deceleration. This vector shows when the speed trend is more than 4.5 kts." I'm sure I have a screenie somewhere on my computer showing the arrow with a trend of only 2.5 kts!"When you set the speed in the IAS/MACH window are you also turning on a autopilot?"It's not entirely necessary, but that's being pedantic, isn't it ;-)Cheers.Ian "pedantic is my middle name" R.

Well I would call that me flying lol and trying to trim a ROC. I wanted a screenshot but nonetheless it's at commanded speed ;) at 230 and not un common for the trend to move acording to your pitch...[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Well if you want to be pedantic Ian what about the undercarriage lever? Not meaning to be picky - I've noticed this in just about every screen shot I remember seeing.

"Well if you want to be pedantic Ian what about the undercarriage lever?"I guess you're referring to the position of it, Craig? I believe this has already been mentioned on the forum... on several occasions ;-) 767 PIC, for example, seems to have figured out a better compromise, but is still a few steps away from reality.Or are you referring to the mislocated (red-coloured) LOCK OVERRIDE trigger mechanism? PMDG seems to have this permanently attached to the panel, rather than the lever.http://members.ozemail.com.au/~b744er/737/GearLever.jpgCheers.Ian.

>BTW, according to the Boeing Maintenance Manual, the speed>trend vector shows the "...predicted airspeed in 10 seconds>based on current acceleration or deceleration. This vector>shows when the speed trend is more than 4.5 kts." I'm sure I>have a screenie somewhere on my computer showing the arrow>with a trend of only 2.5 kts!Yeah, I think there's something odd about the trend vectors. They seem to respond heavily to fast pitch control inputs, even though there is little or no actual acceleration or deceleration. Anyone else noticed this?

IanI was referring to the position of it. I found out from watching the video that came with the DF737 that you move it to the OFF position at some point after T/O (after you've raised the gear of course, not before!). I don't think it makes any difference in a simulation though - its just obsessive behaviour on my part, like turning the seat belt signs on and off.

"Anyone else noticed this?"I was under the same impression, and was going to comment on it, but then I wasn't sure if I had had the gyros and accelerometers in my eyeballs calibrated recently ;-)Unfortunately, without data to back up there impressions, it becomes a rather subjective issue. I'm not even sure if the real aircraft uses pitot-statics to produce the vector, or inertial data from the ADIRU's. The source is the DEU, according to the manuals, but I don't know what the DEU uses to calculate the vector. Perhaps next time I'm passing a 737NG, I should blow into the pitot tube to see what happens :-lol (Making sure not to burn my lips on the probe heat ;-)).Cheers.Ian.

"get someone else to blow into the pitot on the other side at the same time, or you'll probably freak out some comparator inside the airplane. "And miss out on the opportunity to see a rare comparator message???!!!! :-)That's half the fun, Tim ;-)Cheers.Ian.

Are you saying the AP needs to be on.Am I right in that the A/T should spring back to position.Does the FMC need to be programmed for it to work - Cannot see why but just grasping at straws.I have tried with and without auto pilot. I had no trouble with DF737 or PSS-A320I have installed the latest updates. Just wondering if there is a prob. Dont wanna do a reinstal if there is sowmthing I am doing wrong as I would lose all the other liveries (perhaps not)Any help would be appreciated.

I did a re-install and the problem dissapeared. Guess something was corrupted. I thought it was strange as the PSSA320 and DF737, both of which I loved never had the problem. This, imho, has the best of both aircraft, my fav being the 737 but PSS had done a great job with the software. Thanks for they help guys
