I can not figure it out!>>JimThe NOTBEFORE syntax is used to specify both an altitude and a distance constraint with respect to the point at which you would fly to the waypoint following the one with the NOTBEFORE.In other words, the NB following UNTIL is an ALTITUDE and the NB following NOTBEFORE is a DISTANCE.An english translation of the syntax would go something like:Maintain present heading until 4000 ft and not before reaching 15 miles from VOR XXX. Then, fly direct to VOR YYY.The corrsponding syntax:KEEP HDG UNTIL 4000 NOTBEFORE 15 FROM NAVAID XXX NAVAID YYY. (the turn to YYY would not commence unless both a) you were at 4000 ft or above AND :( you were at least 15 miles from NAVAID XXX).[edited to change withing to from]If the distance constraint were not included, then you would use the following:KEEP HDG UNTIL 4000 NAVAID YYY (the turn to YYY would commence immediately after reaching 4000 ft.)Hope this clarifies the meaning.-michael
