Re-engaging A/T after engine failure

Featured Replies

I had an engine failure due to fuel running out of the center tank. I was away from the computer and when I returned the autopilot, fd, a/t, lnav and vnav at all disconnected. I was able to get the engines restarted and everything except the a/t to re-engage. I tried recycling the autopilot, but no auto throttle. Is there a trick to it? ThanksMike MarzettKDFW

TimI did click the a/t switch, several times. It would engage temporarily (split second) and disengage. I could see it annunciated briefly then it would disappear. Mike MarzettKDFW

I cannot say for sure whether the generators were online or not. Since everything else appeared to be working, I assumed they were. Would there have been any other indication other than not being able to engage the auto throttle that the generators were not online?Mike MarzettKDFW

Thanks Tim,I will keep that in mind. Most of my flights have not required the middle fuel tank so this has not been a problem. From your answer I'm assuming restarting the autothrottle is something one should be able to do. Thanks again for your help.Mike MarzettKDFW
