September 24, 200322 yr Not sure what happened, but Somehow my .cfg file has gotten corrupted. When I use the "Shift-Enter" method to toggle the views up and down I get huge changes, almost 45 degrees a click. I remember someone had a fix for this in the aircraft config file. Can someone instruct me on how to make the up down increments a little tamer (smaller and graduated)? Many ThanksCarl :-hmmm
September 24, 200322 yr What are you trying to set? You can define the angle in the 700 panel CFG file. It's just like ZOOM, I fly with .68 so I have set this for the FORWARD VIEW, would be a pain to do it everytime I entered the sim. Once you set the ANGLE it will affect ALL forward facing panels, something to keep in mind if you plan on using the app panel. What you will need to do is this:{VIEWS}VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=20,21,22,23VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.5,0.0,0.0 <---------------------CHANGE THE 3.5VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_WINDOWS=30VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_DIR=1.7, 0.0, 45 The HIGHER the number, the LOWER the horizon will be, play around with it, loading the sim, also try adding a new line for ZOOM, this will help you with the LOOKING downward more without changing the VIEW_DIR so much.. i.e. VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=.68[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. September 25, 200322 yr That's a handy tip, but unfortunately not what I was talking about. I am talking about raising and lowering the forward view in FS with the "Shift-Enter or Shift Backspace" keys to pan the view up or down in small increments. I believe some people have described it as "raising and lowering" the seat? When I used the DF737 in FS2002, someone came up with some numbers that made the up and down degree much smaller than the MS default ones, and it was handy to be able to "raise the seat" and see over the panel when the deck angle was at a high pitch. In any case, I am satisfied with the forward views I have now, it's just that when I was in cruise, I wanted to raise the seat a just a touch to be able to see the countryside ahead. When I hit "Shift-Enter" (the MS default for cycling the view downwards), it went to looking straight down at a 45 degree angle.Anyway thanks for the tip, I like all the PMDG views except the "right view forward". Your tip helps lower that view so one can spot traffic when airborne.Carl
