October 1, 200322 yr Hey allThx for a great plane and awsome forum with tons of information.I got the FS 2004 some time ago, and deeply missing my 767PIC I finnaly got the 737 PMDG, which I love. Now the earlier framrate issues are pretty much solved for me, so the plane is awsome.BUT there is a serious downside to it all... and that's my problem.I have searched in and out and read myself partly blind in this forum to try fin others with same problem, but no.When I take off, the plan just skyrocket, with VS hurlig up at some 5000+.. off course making it stall. It don't matter what cargo I have, if I fly just to test take of, with or without FMC programmed.I come to the end of the runway, get Rotate speed, and just about thouch the joystick, and the plane starts taking off.Now unless I imidiately press the stick hard forward It will go up like a rocket and stall. IF I manage to "stabilize" it, I will have to keep my stick pressed forward for some time, keeping it at somewhat 2000VS... no chance of leveling it.My first thought here was some joystick problems, and I still belive that is what is is. Problem is I don't know how to fix it, the stick works perfect with any other plane, like e.g the PSS A330.I would SO love to start using this plane on a regular basis, but as long as I have this "stick problem" I can't. 8/10 takeoffs I stall cause I can't press the stick hard forward fast enough, and the VS just keeps rising and rising no matter what I do.I have the FSUCIP 3.x something, can't remember now, and also have it regged. My joystick is Logitech Freedom 2.4 (USB) with latest drivers. Running FS2004.I certainly hope someone has had this sort of problem and can help me out on how to solve it.If you need any more answers, just bring the questions and I'll try answer the best I can.I am a semi expirienced player on flightsim.Regards Kjetil EdvardsenPS.. also having a hard time finding decent manuals to the FMC and FCM flight operations.
October 1, 200322 yr Hi Kjetil,There could be a number of resons for this problem. I'll start with the easiest going to the most cumbersome:1. Check your trim settings. For the -600 it should be around 4 to 7 something depending on load.2. Derate your take-off. The real NG IS overpowered. TO-1 or TO-2 will decrease your N1 with 3% and 6% percent each derating thrust with 10 and 20 percent respectively.3. Check your joystick output vs input in FSUIPC on the Joystick tab. Especially pay attention to the elevator axis. Be sure it shows 0 at center and look at the max min reading.4. If you've tweaked the aircraft.cfg file or have used any external load manager, the Center of Gravity (CoG) could be out of whack. Check the aircraft.cfg file and especially the station_load.x sections. You should have one station load. The station_load.0 will show weight, X-coordinate, Y-coordinate, Z-cordinate. The X-coordinate should be a value of approx -48. Y-coord should read 0 and Z-coord should read 1.05 (I think)5. I do remember having this problem but reinstalling the package after completely removing everything with the removal tool found on the www.precisionmanuals.com seemed to do the trick. It could be a corrupt installation.I most certainly forgot something so please fill me in here. ;-)Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
October 1, 200322 yr Hey and thx so much for trying to help, this is driving me mad..lolFirst off, I checked my FSUICP joystick settings, they were not set. So glad thinking that would solve it, but no:-((PS.. the max and min setting was 16 000 something.. same as I got trying to push the stick max up/down - also set the center to 0)As to the trim settings, that's a tad interessting, since I actually been trying to find those, and I can't..!! Were are they? I see some settings left/right of the trottle control, but can't adjust them. Now the aricraft.cfg file COULD be an issue (allthough I doubt it since I had this problem from first install and testrun)I do use the Svatt Beta (which I'm sure u know of) for this aircraft, but Im a tad unfamiliar with editing that file.So here is my Station_load details in the 700 cfg file(which I fly)//max_gross_weight=153500.000CG_forward_limit=0.133CG_aft_limit=0.330max_number_of_stations=15station_load.0=25990.000, -19.003, 0.000, 0.000station_load.1=1030, -23.170, 0.000, 0.000station_load.2=1030, -27.337, 0.000, 0.000station_load.3=1030, -31.503, 0.000, 0.000station_load.4=1030, -35.670, 0.000, 0.000station_load.5=1030, -39.837, 0.000, 0.000station_load.6=1030, -44.003, 0.000, 0.000station_load.7=1030, -48.170, 0.000, 0.000station_load.8=1030, -52.337, 0.000, 0.000station_load.9=1030, -56.503, 0.000, 0.000station_load.10=1030, -60.670, 0.000, 0.000station_load.11=1030, -64.837, 0.000, 0.000station_load.12=1030, -69.003, 0.000, 0.000station_load.13=1030, -73.170, 0.000, 0.000station_load.14=3608, -56.496, 0.000, 0.000From reading your suggested setting I belive something most be wrong here or what? Now if the cfg file don't solve it.. I recon reinstall in due.. :-(
October 1, 200322 yr Hi,Well, this is definitaly your problem. Same one I had the other day.The problem occurs when using the PMDG Load Manager after using SVATT4 beta Load and Balance Settings.http://www.scandva.org/svapics/showpic.php...4522963-830.jpgSVATT4 loads 15 stations with their weight and their distances from the reference datum. As you can see you have 25990 lbs on station 0 which will make it very heavy in the front...lol This is due to the fact that the PMDG manager will only change the weight of station 0. It will not change the coordinates if they are wrong. And it will not erase any station loads if they exist. Change station 0 to 1030 and try it again. I would say that's the SVATT weight for that station. Or revert to the original aircraft.cfg file's setting for station_load.0 and use the PMDG Load Manager.(I've talked to Lefteris about changing the Load Manager to avoid messing up the CoG. Maybe it will be implemented in SU2?)>station_load.0=25990.000, -19.003, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.1=1030, -23.170, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.2=1030, -27.337, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.3=1030, -31.503, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.4=1030, -35.670, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.5=1030, -39.837, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.6=1030, -44.003, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.7=1030, -48.170, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.8=1030, -52.337, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.9=1030, -56.503, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.10=1030, -60.670, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.11=1030, -64.837, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.12=1030, -69.003, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.13=1030, -73.170, 0.000, 0.000>station_load.14=3608, -56.496, 0.000, 0.000Give it a try and report back! ;-)EDIT: Oh, and about the trim settings. You have the indicators to the left and right of the throttle pedestal. But you have to change the trim with NUM7 and NUM1 or assign trim up and trim down to a rocker switch on your yoke or joystick. October 1, 200322 yr Hey againThx so much for all your help. I fooled around with the station load prior to your post.. and messed up bad..lolAnyways.. that made me reinstall the whole stuff... and it seemed to have solved it all! HOOAH!Allthough I dont have time to do a proper test flight now, I will later. But I will stop using weight/fuel settings from Svatt, and try use the loader which comes with it.PS, on a side note... these are the default load settings in cfg for the 600 after install...//station_load.0=17800.000, -45.450, 0.000, 1.050//I'll do a quick report after a test flight.
October 3, 200322 yr Hey againOk, now I have done several test flights with the aircraft, and it all works "perfect" now after the reinstall. Things not working so good, is rather from me not understanding or knowing how to operate/use it.I downloaded Metzinger's advanced PMDG tutorial and did that flight "with him". That was awsome, tons of knowledge about the aircraft, FMC and avaiation/navigation in general. Really a MUST for all semi expirienced flyers out there. Now I at least know how and when to operate the FMC, and make changes in it during the flight. So I have one last question before I close this topic. SID/STARS....Anyone know of sites to download more of them? I do have the latest pack from the developer, but still miss tons of airports in Scandinavia - which I would love to have. E.g. that package don't even include airports such as Gardemoen (ENGM) or Arlanda (ESSA).So any tips for places to find more SID/STars would be highly appriciated. (since I am a tad too rookie to make my own ones yet).
October 3, 200322 yr Glad you got everything sorted out,SID/STARS for Scandinavia plus other airports in Europe can be found here:http://pmdg.operations.dk/It's one of the members of Scandinavian Virtual Airlines who keeps this site.TGIF, :-beerchug Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
