October 3, 200322 yr Hi ALL,I wondered why the bank angle selection has none effect while in VNav/LNAV Mode FMC driven. The real Pilots are as well in wonder and anger about that, but so is life...http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.ph...threadid=104403 Regards, Torben Hadler

October 3, 200322 yr Just one of the many close attention to detail where this plane shines just like the real deal ;). Wait until the FS world is shocked with SU2!!!!!!!!!! [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. October 3, 200322 yr Hello Randy, Going away for the weekend and thought I'd pop the question: Will SU2 be out before FS2006? Don't get angry now!! A good weekend to all the folksRegards
October 3, 200322 yr >I would be logical ( I think ) if you could limit LNAV>to 5 while in cruise. Smoother flight while cruising.Sorry Bruno but your logic is flawed. With 5 degrees of bank at 450kts TAS, your turn radius would about 40nm! So I think you'd have problems staying in the airways which are 10nm wide in the UK.:D
October 3, 200322 yr That's the beauty of fully automated flight... Otto takes the commanded bank angle into account when planning for turns so it wouldn't overshoot the flighpath. Howard H. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi
October 4, 200322 yr The FMC should of course, limit the bank angles automatically according to speed, altitude, configuration, mode, etc (If the FMC tells the aircraft to do something silly, usually a Boeing A/P will override the command... It has its own set of limits). It might be a 737NG design fault (A/P or FMC-related) which needs further investigation. But, I have to ask... Would the pilots have made such a big deal about it if the aircraft hadn't sounded that Bank Angle warning? (an optional GPWS warning) ;-)Cheers,Ian.
October 4, 200322 yr Well I'm no expert - but it would seem to me that if you created a flight plan that required a 90 Howard H. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi
October 4, 200322 yr Standard route between KBOS and KJFK: LUCOS SEY PARCH CCC ROBER. There is a hefty right turn at LUCOS, most likely at cruise altitude.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
October 4, 200322 yr Commercial Member Bank limiter works :(A) In HDGSEL(:( VORLOC only, repeat, only if tracking a VR radial NOT a localiserFor LNAV, APP and VORLOC when tracking ILS Otto is in command. C'est la vie. This is modelled by the book here.VangelisPS. By the way Default bank limit angle for t/o is 25 not 30 degrees.======================================= E. M. October 5, 200322 yr LUCOS is only 45NM from KBOS - it wouldn't be at cruise - still part of the initial climb or at the TOC perhaps. Howard H. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi
October 5, 200322 yr "It might be a 737NG design fault (A/P or FMC-related) which needs further investigation."Of course, I meant Boeing to look into it, not PMDG ;-)Cheers.Ian.
