Will my hardware be enough for PMDG 737?

Featured Replies

Ok, here is the last of my questions (for now hee hee) before I make a final decision on buying the 737. I ask for any comments about my hardware configuration and expected performance with the PMDG aircraft. I typically run FS2004 at either 1024x768x32 with 2X Anti-aliasing or 1600x1200x32 with anti-aliasing disabled. I have Antisotropic filtering always disabled. I have Chris Willis' high FPS cloud textures, along with his FS9 weather and texture setting recommendations. I always fly with real weather. I plan on using the PMDG 737 without the virtual cockpit option. With a freeware non VC 737 aircraft and the default 737 panel I get pretty fluid FPS through a wide spectrum of cloud formations, including high density scenery such as the FS2004 Dallas Ft. Worth airport. I do realize however that the PMDG 737 is much more complex of course and will have more CPU demand. My system specs: CPU: Athlon XP 1.73ghz (2100+) overclocked to 1.82ghz (2200+) RAM: 512 megs Kingston DDR (266 mhz) Vid: GF4 Ti4200 64 Meg AGP 4X @ 275mhz core/599mhz memory MB: ASUS A7V266-E (VIA KT266A Northbridge) HD: Western Digital 40gig 7200 RPM/ATA 100 OS: Windows XP Home, SP1, tweaked for gaming performanceThank you for any comments.

I have a GF2MX card with 256 Megs of Ram and a AMD 2100 XP running on Win XP PRO and do ok in the 2d panel in FS9. Since you only use the 2D panel you should get good frame rates. Just don't expect the world ya know? ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg
