October 21, 200322 yr Is it possible to completely 'dump' the current route programmed into the FMC when the aircraft is airborne and start over from scratch? I'd like to be able to save a flight to practice approaches and takeoffs, ect, and I am having trouble with the PMDG FMC in these instances. For example, I save an airborne flight through FS2004 on final approach. When I reset this saved flight the 737 is restarts on the saved airborne position but the FMC is 'dumped" and the route is empty. I can't program in a new route at all to get approach flap settings; the PMDG FMC will accept a destination in this circumstance but won't accept a landing runway and I cannot get approach flap settings or execute a route, ect. I've tried to program in a departure point while airborne in this situation but the FMC won't accept it, only a destination. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.PS: SU2 looks awesome so far, I appreciate PMDG's committment in upgrading and enhancing their product!!!
October 21, 200322 yr The ability to *change* the ORIGIN ICAO in the air (thus clearing the active route) is inhibited in flight. But this really is not your question, your question pertains to the ablity to load a saved flight with the gauges in memory. This is being look at but we will not see a change for this prior to SU2, it is a bit more complicated...[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. October 22, 200322 yr Thanks Randy. Do you know if there is a way to program a 'blank' FMC inflight to have just a usable destination and get it to accept enough information to calculate VREF and a flaps extension schedule? This is really what I'm interested in. This way I could start up a saved flight, punch in the relevant data and be set up for an approach for practice, ect, if this is possible.
October 23, 200322 yr "Do you know if there is a way to program a 'blank' FMC inflight to have just a usable destination and get it to accept enough information to calculate VREF and a flaps extension schedule?"From what PMDG have said, James, it is possible, but I think a few of us are having problems with this (including myself).I can insert a DEST ICAO, but I can't enter anything in the LEGS page (I get INVALID ENTRY, or something like that). I have similar problems with the performance stuff, too.I'm hoping SU-2 will overwrite what's wrong with my FMC... I've already tried several reinstalls of the original files with no improvement. As a few people are having identical problems, I can't see it being a corrupt download(???).Cheers.Ian.
October 23, 200322 yr Ian, I'm having the exact same problems - cannot get a blanked out FMC to accept anything but a destination ICAO. Like you I'm hoping SU2 might perhaps be able to address this issue.
