October 24, 200322 yr Hi Mike- Soft constraints (at or above or below) are not implemented as of yet. So skip those alt constraints for now.- The click spot in the center of the barometer adjustment knob is actually where you change from current ALT or QNH to STD barometric pressure or 29,92 inHg or 1013 hPa. Above transition altitude (in US 18000, in Europe somwhere around 5-7000) you will get a yellow box if you don't have STD set, if below trans alt you will get a yellow box if you dont have current ALT or QNH set. Scrap tooltips!!! It's for pussies!- You can't get current ALT or QNH if your not given it from ATC or some ATIS. Hope it helps, :-beerchug Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
October 24, 200322 yr Thanks Mats!-I guess the real question is, is the press of the center of the knob REALLY setting the barometric pressure to 29.92?Mike-PS - Are we getting soft constraints in SU2?
October 24, 200322 yr I have the PMDG preliminary manual (there is another coming out, right?), and both tutorials. I can't find anything in either one about entering altitude information on waypoints indicating altitude "at or above" or "at or below". Other FMS's allowed this by appending A or B to altitude desired, I believe. Can't try this out right now as I am unable to access my computer for awhile. Also, in regards to using the click spot in the center of the Barometer adjustment knob: When climbing above 18,000 I do get the yellow box, I click the center of knob, but "tooltips" keeps telling me altimeter is set incorrectly and press "B" to fix it. What am I doing wrong? As a side note to this, how do you guys get the correct barometric pressure when coming down if ATC hasn't given it to you?Thanks-Mike Smith
October 25, 200322 yr Author Yep! As I said Tooltips are for sissies! ;-) Just keep track of when you have STD and Current ALT/QNH set.Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
