October 29, 200322 yr I'm wondering which should I repaint: 700_full_left.psd and 700_full_right.psd or pmdg_700_fuse_t.psd...I've tried and it seems that the 'pmdg_700_fuse_t.psd' is difficult though possible to repaint, but the 700_Full_left and right.psd's are easier to paint because of the perfectly laid out layers in Phototshop..I've noticed that most repaints that are released, are released with the pmdg_700_fuse_t.psd which doesn't appear to be layered properly in Photoshop.., unless I'm really missing something..If this is the case, whats the purpose of the other two '700_full_left.psd and 700_full_right.psd?' ThanksTroy
October 29, 200322 yr Troy, the ...full_left and ...full_right are used to create your livery. It's layered to aid you in painting the fuse without have to worry about cutting around windows and doors and painting over seams. The way I do it is to work on one side, usually the left, and completely paint all of the livery elements, using different layers for each. For instance, I use a seperate layer for cheat lines, another for airline names and logo's, another for flags, etc. After I'm satisified with placement, I'll place a small square, a few pixels are enough, in the upper left corner and lower right corner of EACH layer I want duplicated on the right side of the fuse. This assure perfect alignment between left and right fuse halves after coping that individual ...full_left layer into the ...full_right texture. For text that appears on the right fuse you have to horizontally flip that layer. Erase the squares from the upper left and lower right for the layer you want to flip then use your paint programs alignment menu command. After I've finished both sides I then save them both as TGA files then I paste these TGA files into the pmdg_700_fuse_t file. The ...full_left.tga is pasted into the top two positions of the pmdg-700_fuse_t file and the ...full_right.tga into the bottom two.Alignment of the front fuse halves are almost done when you past the tga files into the ...fuse_t file. All you need to do fro the front fuse sections is to align them VERTICALLY. Do not move them to the left or right. The aft sections are moved horizontally to align with the APU exhaust. Save the ...Fuse_T file then Save As a TGA file then use image tool to convert over to a 32bit BMP file with no mip maps. This should get you started.Regards, http://www.precision...GX_Dev_Team.jpg PMDG Graphic Designer
