November 1, 200322 yr Let's say you are flying at 200kts in cln config with the A/T engaged. Now select a speed in the IAS/MACH window, which is just 1knot above the minimum speed determined by an flashing A.The autothrottle responds, but just before reaching this speed, the magenta speed bug and the selected speed jump to considerable higher speed (+10 to +20kts).I've experienced some strange uncommanded speedbug jumps in normal flight ops as well, without ever using VNAV. Still investigating.Bernt Stolle Capt CRJ
November 1, 200322 yr Yes there were some ;) you are a pretty good tester hehe. We are light years ahead of the copy you are running and trust me just as through ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 1, 200322 yr I don't think so, 'cause I've been a beta tester for the FLYII 757.But they didn't accept me for the MS 737.RegardsBernt Stolle Capt CRJ
November 3, 200322 yr I get the MCP speed jumps also with the following situation: preflight, dial in 250 kts in speed window (for -10000 ft speed limit), when climb power set at acceleration height, I select FLT LVL CHANGE mode and the speed windows jumps to 270 kts right off.I've been adjusting for this problem by selecting 230kts during preflight and then I can get a reiable 250kts on the MCP window when engaging LVL CHANGE :) I hope SU2 can fix this.
November 3, 200322 yr "I hope SU2 can fix this."It's not broken, James. This behaviour is correct ;-)I think you are, perhaps, not following the correct procedures. Set V2 in the MCP window for takeoff as per the Boeing manuals...and make your initial climb at V2+20kts. Worry about 250kts after you have engaged LVL CHG.Have you downloaded Tim's tutorial? I'm sure this will give you a better idea of how to fly a 737NG ;-)Cheers.Ian.
November 3, 200322 yr I'd better study up some more, that's for sure. This is a good way to learn all this stuff :)
