November 2, 200322 yr I recently purchused the PMDG 737 NG, and all the graphics look great and flies very well, but I am extremly frustrated with the operation of the FMC. I have been flying the 767 of Wilco Publishing for three years so it's not that I don't know how to operate a FMC. I have tried the limited manual that comes with the PMDG software and also the very well writen Metzinger's Manual, but it still does'nt work. When I try to program the airports and the route I get a message in the FMC saying "data not found". It also appeares that the font in the FMC's display is totaly out of scale and distorted. I have tried the technical support but have had no luck in getting a good response, and therefore no solution to the problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
November 2, 200322 yr You need to have the Airac installed.....You should have read yor manual :)You can get the Airac at www.navdata.atJohnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/zone.jpg ][/div
November 2, 200322 yr Most problems related to airports or sids in the FMC seem to be a result of not having the proper Navdata or SIDSStars installed. Go to www.navdata.com and download stefan's airac. Run the installation for PMDG 737 and it should install for you. The NAVDATA folder should be located right below the Flight Simulator 9 or FS2002 folder depending on which one you are using. If you plan to use Sids and Stars I believe there are some on the PMDG website. If you downloaded Tim's excellent tutorial, he has the 3.08 cycle included I believe. I am a real novice, but I think you will find excellent help in this forum if you ask for it in a polite way (and even sometimes if you don't) :( Good luck. It's a great plane! Enjoy!Mike M.KDFW
November 2, 200322 yr Hi Nameless,(Psst, take a look at the forum rules)Looks like you have made the FMC larger than default? This could be a problem with your FMC getting out of wack. Try to set it to default size and you'll see it get better.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
