FS9; PMDG; Fly now; stand loaded;"Bank angle.." crash!

Featured Replies

Hello PMDG,Many thanks for a wonderful product. I have been using it fine for some time now all patched up and everything. Unfortunately, I have now started experiencing a crash after I have loaded the pland and while I am at the stand preping for flight - it does not matter what airport I am at and only happens with the PMDG.All of a sudden, within a few minutes 5 max, you hear the "BANK ANGLE" warning and the plane tilts onto its side and it crashes, almost as if someone had pressed the slew key and turned it over!It does not quit out of FS9, but resumes where it was at. At this stage not everything loads up anyway so I am resolved to having to quit out of FS9 and re-enter - to have teh same think happening again.I have noticed it happening more often when I choose a saved flight rather than the create a flight option, so I will test a theory one of your posters (sorry ... can't find the thread anymore - anyone help here?) said about waiting for the animation to load and spin smoothly before clicking Fly Now. many thanks, rvdlaak

One wild guess here:Empty left main tank and APU running?Regards,

I experienced similar situations, too. Mainly when I load a saved flight i.e. stand position - but in my case I find the airplane just some hundred feet above the ground eventually crashing down. So far I thought this could be in relation to cached or buffered data which leeds in not correctly positioning the plane on the ground (default scenery, no AFCAD files installed). Any idea? This doesn't happen often, occasionally when I decide to do a second flight and load a saved position at an airport of choice (cold and dark). On other occasions I find the engines running while all systems are powered down (the loaded flight has been saved cold and dark). I resolve this by closing FS9 and reloading it, then I'm fine.Kind regards,Nik @ LFSB

Thanks Mats :-) made me smile that :-)No - my APU is not running as yet 100% on all tanks is the usual setting :-) All engines off.cheers,Ronnie

Hi Nik,Thanks for that - no idea about the cached/buffered data idea, although I have noticed that the PMDG does not like to be reselected after ending flight and straight back into another. Between flights I always end up exiting and going back in if I decide to use the PMDG.I am selecting the airframe in the create a flight section, let it load up the plane, then select the saved flight and see if this helps. Will let you know how I get on.many thanks,Ronnie

SO far here is what I have found out about this.1. this happens when I change the fuel load on the plane while on the stand. Selecting fuel before loading the sim seems to be the way to go with this. However - it has happened once again after I followed this step - but I do not know why - except I was in the process of starting up my APU at the time, which brings what Mats said into play - so more to come.cheers,Ronnie

Let's wait for SU2... :-)Regards,NikBAW640

agreed :-)cheers,Ronnie
