Go Around when on autoland

Featured Replies

Hello,When I am performing an autoland, and I get a Go Around, then how do I abort the autoland and initiate the go-around?I would love to see a step-by-step guide on this.Nico

Nico,Push the TOGA button (Top left screw on the MCP) Once= rotate and climb away at 1000-2000fpm or push it again and you get full go around power. Make sure that the HDG bug is on rwy hdg and that Go-Around Alt is set in the mcp window. If your speed is greater than the white marker, flaps 15 otherwise flap 25 the gear up followed by flap retraction on speed shedule. The aircraft should level off at the assigned/set altitude. At this point when you are happy everything is going smoothly, you can then engage the various pitch and roll modes as required and go back and attempt another approach.Hope this helps :)

I am sure I did push the TOGA button, but nothing happened. The autoland just continued...Is that really all I need to do? Push the TOGA, retract flaps and gear and set a new altitude?I will give it another try next time...Nico

I am assuming that you have both autopilots engaged and are not just using one?

Once you engage Reversers you MUST stop. SU2 has changed the Go-Around behavior greatly but yes you set the missed app alt on the MCP prior to landing engage TOGO, Positive rate gear up, call flaps 15 and 400' go LVL CH etc etc....[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
