November 20, 200322 yr as I have finally gotten around to buying a P4 3.2GHz system fully loaded ...I want to thank each and every PMDG member for this delay as I figured out that it saved me roughly $2,000 in price drops allowing me to cram an extra SATA Raid Array, an extra 512 Megs of Ram and the brand new and shiny ATI 9800 XT still hot from the production line. }( Had SU2 come out with all it's new "push me into slideshow land" features, I would not have been able to stall this long, and I'd probably have been sitting with something already obsolete.
November 20, 200322 yr Well.... Keep cool man, I can tell you, your conf will be rather obsolete very soon!!:7 Obslolescence is a never ending story in the computer area....You'll have a nice beast anyway....Cheers,
November 20, 200322 yr Yea, I know, this is about my 20th, not counting individual parts ... I started with this silliness with the original flight simulator before IBM even developed the PC. Figure this one may make it to FS 2006/2008 judging on past history.Ray

I started with this silliness with the original flight simulator before IBM even developed the PC."Hey Ray,Could this be the one you are referring to? :) I scanned these from the manual of my first copy of flight simulator from Jan 1980.Note the stringent memory requirements (32k) and the statement "The extra memory of the 32K (or 48K) system is used to implement a few functions suggested by FS1 tape version users." Also the paragraph about the "Micro Altimeter" is interesting. With those graphics you really couldn't tell when you were close to the ground LOL (that is a real screen shot on the cover photo). Ah, those were the days ;) FS has always pushed the envelope of current hardware and has typically been one of the chief motivating factors whenever I upgrade my PC.Donhttp://www.djbzone.com/fs/images/forumshot...icCardFront.jpg http://www.djbzone.com/fs/images/forumshot...gicCardBack.jpg
