Two humble inquiries

Dear PMDG Team,There are two things about the panel layout you guys have expertly recreated in the 737 that I have always hoped might be possible to discuss with you.First, I'm not sure if it's just me, but the standard panel (M) the numbers on the PFD are almost impossible to read for me, and my eyesight has always been good. However, when I use the zoom (Z) panel, I love the size that it gives me, but when I am configuring the plane for landing I have no access to the flap status or any indication of the landing gear on the screens. To this end there are a couple of things I wanted to propose as a possible solution or maybe another one of those crafy letters on the panel =PIf there was some way to have the standard panel have larger screens, but still keep the switches that are below the MCP so that one can more easily read them without losing access to any flap or gear indications. I would much rather fly it in this mode than in zoom, which although VERY attractive to look at, just isn't right. Something in between the M and the Z settings would be perfect.I also noticed that there seem to be a few different options on the EICAS display depending on the particular carrier. However, all the ones that I have seen (but I haven't looked TOO hard) look like this.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/404201/L/I don't know if the gear or flap indications show up on this screen or not (I don't drive the NG's, as much as I always hoped that I do), but I'm sure someone here can answer that. But barring that as an option, do you think there's a way to squeeze in the flap indications (gear is easy enough to remember), but when you have 7 or 8 flap levels... you can easily lose track =PAgain, I don't want to sound like some nitpicker, but since providing constructive inquiries, one can either be turned down (fine with me), or maybe some compromise can be struck (even more fine by me).I hope to hear back from you guys either way, as I think it would be an important addition.Andy CleeremansP.S. After posting, I figured that maybe just making the numbers on the PFD bigger would help immensely ... the Boeing numbers are actually rather large in comparison.

There has been a rework of the zoom panel for SU2, I think it kind of fits the bill for what you are after.

I spent some time on putting the flaps into the zoom panel, and while it would be nice to have some other indicators there, the design makes this pretty impossible. I suggest a quick switch to set the other things and back. The gear and gear lights are on the zoom panel? The other type of EFIS dispaly you see is the compact style coming on the 800-900 phase, it's a way off yet.....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49747.jpgCheers,[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Randy,I really appreciate your effort, I love it that the people who improve this project actively take input from their customers, so thank you very much for that. In response to your question, I meant if there was a flap indication on the actual EICAS display like there is on the 777, or is that only on the compact style (800 - 900) display you refered to. I don't want to add something that isn't there IRL, granted the pilots have a lot more real estate to look at than we do =PRandy, would it be easier to fit in the zoom panel if the CRT's didn't fill the area below the MCP but rather left a little room for some switches and a flap indicator on top of the screens? I love the big size, but it looks so wierd having those CRT's filling the entire main panel area. I know this is why it's the "zoom" panel =P, but I guess I was hoping for something in between the main panel (displays are hard to read for me), and the zoom panel (reference the flap / gear problem). I do not mind the gear lever being off screen, as up or down.. easy to figure it out, but with flaps.. it can be hard.Sorry to do this to you guys also, but I noticed that the No V-Speed indication in the PFD, and the indication on the altitude tape for ground level are in yellow text IRL, and not green. See below.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/061539/L/Andy CleeremansP.S. Hope I don't get ridden out on a rail for this... I still haven't gotten the tar and feathers completely out yet :)

Umm right, disregard that last paragraph about the v-speeds being in green, I was thinking of something else.. it won't let me edit it, so pardon the effects of this post.Andy
