OT: Charts for purchase

Featured Replies

Hi All, Can anyone recommend someone who sells charts covering Europe? I have been looking at the Jeppesen's SimCharts 3.0 but two things are a bit of an annoyance: First of all, the package containing paper charts, contains only low-altitude enroute charts. Secondly, I cannot be bothered to get the right paper size and print all the DPs, STARS, IAPs etc. What I would like to know if there is a vendor that has these already printed along with some high-alt charts covering Europe. Thanks in advance,Boaz

Is there anything similar for US high altitude charts?I bought the low-altitude enroute charts from Jepp, thinking I would be doing a lot of GA flying, but then I discovered the PMDG 737 :) Now I never use those charts, and I really wish I had some high-alt ones. The SimCharts package is pretty nice. It's nice to be able to see your track over the ground when you shoot ILS approaches, or when taxiing around an airport. The only bummer about it is that most of the DPs and STARs are not to scale, so they are not available for tracking your flight path inside the sim ... they are only available for printing.

Ross, you could try somewhere like Sporty's Pilot shop.I am pretty sure that they would have HI Alt charts for sale - not sure of the price though.

Yes Sporty's has USA high and low altitude charts available. There are only 3 charts for the USA high so they're quite affordable. :)-Shaun

Thanks Mark, not sure why I didn't think of that ... I have their catalog on my bookcase right behind me ...
