December 21, 200322 yr Hi!I'm just curious, what does the WIND CORR setting on the APPROACH REF page of the FMC do? I can't find this mentioned anywhere, does it have something to do with headwind / tailwind correction during the approach? rgrds/fredrik granfors (ESGG!)
December 21, 200322 yr Tjena Fredrik. It is indeed the wind correction and what it does is it adds that correction to the ref speed and enters it into the speed restriction of the RWY entry in the LEGS view. Hmm, that sounds more complicated than it is.Say that you select flaps 25 in the INIT REF descent page. The FMC calculates that the Vref speed for that flaps setting is 120 knots as an example. If you leave the WIND CORR at +5 you will see that the REF indicator in the PFD sits at 120, but if you look in the FMC LEGS at the RWY leg (usually the last entry if there are no missed approach procedures) you /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
