Pitch Limit Indicator

Recommended Posts

Hi,Out of curiosity.Do NGs have this? I know 737-300/400/500 Do. It's a Yellowish pitch limit indicator displayed when flaps are not up. It indicates when the stick shaker activation will kick out for the existing flight condition. Not to exed unless you want to stall ;)...Thanks!Bruno Francescoli.

Yes they do. Newer aircraft also display the PLI at slow speeds.

"Newer aircraft also display the PLI at slow speeds."Or, perhaps more correctly, when the flaps are up, the PLI appears if the aircraft gets to the stall speed. You can stall at quite high speeds (if you are doing silly things with your aircraft). ;-)Cheers.Ian.

You may be correct, Ian, it only says "slow speed with flaps up" in my systems manual. You can indeed stall the aircraft at very high speeds, just flick it into a 80 degree bank at 300 knots and you'll stall it. Which is a good thing, otherwise you'd tear off the wings :)
