Red on the Speed Tape

In an earlier post I noted that while trying to meet specific speed restrictions, while complying with the flap schedule I would find myself in the RED. Being in the red is not good! However the closer I study the tape those red bricks are not in the area the current speed. If this is so, am I still flying within manufacture tolerances?When I see those red bars anywhere...well I guess I'm not exactly sure how to interpret their meaning. I would sure be grateful for a good explanation of how to read the tape. John Franklin

THe red bricks always refer to the speed next to it. Basically, if you have no red bricks next to your current speed, then you are within limits. As the speed tape not only shows you current speed, but a range of airspeeds, the red bricks may or may not show somewhere above (max speed) or below (stall speed) your current airspeed. Again, as long as there are no red bricks next to your current airspeed, you are within limits.If you are still confused, attach a screenshot of your speedtape in a scenario where you don't understand the principle behind it.Regards,Mark
