March 11, 200422 yr Hi,Just tried Ross Carlson's Fuel Planner version 1.2,but it doesn't let me do short hops of for instance 85NM which are perhaps flown at 12000ft. Otherwisethis is quite nice tool. These flights exist, although trains are almost faster in terms of total travelling time.Regards,Siggy Siggy Schwarz
March 12, 200422 yr The tool doesn't provide shorter hop choices because the data for fuel consumption on those hops isn't provided in the documentation, so the tool can't be accurate.I would suggest you choose the minimum (200 nm) distance. You'll have a little extra fuel, but that's certainly not a bad thing. You could compensate by decreasing your reserves if you really don't want to carry the extra fuel.
