Keeping SIDS/STARS in check

Featured Replies

I was wondering how others keep track of which SIDS/STARS are most current for them. For example, I use:1) The PMDG provided files2) The files created on NavDataSo when a new update comes from PMDG, how do you keep track of which ones NOT to overwrite because they've been modified via NavData? Also, how do you know if and when the PMDG files are actually now MORE CURRENT then the NavData ones?Confused yet?? ; )I'm keeping all NavData files in a separate folder, and then re-overwriting the PMDG ones after an update. folder, and then re-overwriting the PMDG ones after an update.

Howdy. The DAFIF files I supply all have the current cycle number in the header so you can see from that what is current or not. I also put the creation date in the header. Perhaps a way to tell which files are more current is to look at the file creation date shown by the file explorer. You can at least see when they were created and compare using that method. Keep in mind that the files put on navdata.at are usually created because either that particular airport was not included in the DAFIF cycle or the author added or corrected procedures for a particular airport. They also might not get updated on a regular basis. However the system you are using sounds like it should work nicely to get the maximum benefit form both sources.RegardsTerry

I am trying to keep on top of the UK sidstar files I've written. I have already prepared 5 updated files which I will upload to the Navdata site on the 18th March. The remaining UK files on the Navdata site that I have written will remain current. Simon Butlerhttp://www.elitejets.co.uk/
