March 20, 200422 yr Sirs,When should you use flap 40 for landing? Maybe when the runway is wet?http://www.airliners.net/open.file/307091/L/What do Boeing advise?Cheers,Paul
March 20, 200422 yr Hi,Are there any disadvantages in using flap 40? Also, how do you know if the airport allows flaps 40 use? Finally, are there any company procedures regarding flap 40, or is there a standard used across the board?Thanks,-Paul
March 20, 200422 yr No no real disadvantages. These are heavy birds so you are unlikely to get bouncy landings anyway. With lighter aircrafts if you have to much lifting force you can of natural reasons get quite bumpy landings by applying to much flaps. Like most the IL 2 FB planes :)I am not sure but I think it
March 21, 200422 yr Hi. I noticed on the GOL airlines DVD from JustPlanes, that they used flaps 40 for landing all the time.
