I think that you have to buy 600-700 first at all to get 800 working. So you have to buy two products anyways if you dont have NG yet.

To use the 737-800/900 you need to buy the 737-600/700.The 736/7 acts as a 'base pack' if you will. The 738/9 is simply an 'addon' pack for it.
