I do have a very weird problem. When selecting the PMDG from the aircraft menu and loading the AIRAC database when i have selected the aircraft, the mouse jumps, slows down and hangs on my screen. When the aircraft is loaded the mouse behaviour is normal, but after a while it hangs and jumps again. This also continous when loading all the programs for on-line flyingIn normal use (internet etc) the problem seems not to exist but sometimes I imagine the mouse stutters a little while when closing and opening programs etc.Ive done the following;change my memory 1024 RAM into 1024 RAM of another brandchange mouse drivers (logitec cordless)Logitec mouse with microsoft driverschange the mouseReinstalled windows XP home editionReinstalled PMDG 600/700 800/900change the amount of virtual memorydisabled virtual memeory, and als enabeld itNothing solved the problem!!!!!!!As anyone any idea My system;P4 2,41024 RAMFX5700 256 MB80 gig hard disclogitec cordless mouse and keyboardIIyama 19 inchAny possible solutions are welcom!!!Douwe Keegstra

Wow, this is a weird one...What motherboard?Did you try both windowed and non-windowed mode?Did you try XP Pro?Since it's cordless, check that there're no devices between the mouse and the small receptor box device. For instance, my joystick (MSFF2) disturbs the connection between the box and the mouse as does my cellular phone :)Hope this helps a bit...

Thanks for your reaktion,I do not own XPpro, but i do not believe there's a solution in it.Tried the reciever in another place free fom the monitor etc.Did not help.My phone,.......I will trie to place it somewhere else, you will hear the results.it seems to me that there might be a problem with the interaction between the internal memory and the hard disc. every time the disc is working loading things etc the mouse stutters a bit. with heavy programs (like fs2004) it stutters a lot and with easy ones like explorer for the internet a very little bit. You'l hear from meDouwe

This sounds like you're not running your disk in the UDMA mode. Can it be? Tried those Application Accelerator thingies from Intel? I dunno what board you have, maybe that would help...Is it a new board? Can you RMA it? Change for another one or even another type at you dealer? I made that once, bought the P4G8X, which was working terribly, and then went there a month later and said I want P4C800, for extra 20 Euro price. And they gave it to me, and this one is like a dream. In your case, I'd definitely suspect MOBO if you changed memory already - what HDD do you have? - although, this is probably hardly a problem...

my board is a Gigabyte GA-SR533 1,5 years old, so returning it to the shop would not be possible. Latest Bios downloadedhow do I set the disc in the UDMA mode?It supports max DDR333 The memorymodules are 400. Is that a problem According my dealer that would not cause the problem.Brand of the disc,...honst i do not know, it runs 7200 RPM. 80 gig.Douwe

OK, so changing the board is indeed impossible. Maybe the board really has a problem, you should maybe try another one if possible...UDMA mode is set in Device Manager, IDE ATAPI Controllers -> Primary IDE Channel -> Advanced Settings - check that's set on DMA, and that it says something like "Current Transfer Mode: Ultra DMA Mode 5".Let me put it this way, it *shouldn't* be a problem. A friend of mine tried to put extra 256mb 400mhz RAM into Epox mobo that supports only 333mhz, and the mobo didn't even recognize it. So this RAM could also be a problem. I don't say it is, but it *could* be a problem. And the disk is cool.

Word Not Allowed,Checked the DMA mode,...It has the settings you suggested.I do not know it anymore, maybe it is wise to reinstall XP again to see what happens,.....thanks for your supportRegardsDouwe

Well when you select the PMDG planes from the menu the airac can slow you down but only at this time, it does it to me but is not an issue in game because it already loaded it in the menu. As for your other issues sounds like maybe your system is running many programs bringing it to a crawl. You can try END IT ALL to stop any programs prior to running FS as this will free up more resources and is what I do each and every time prior to running FS..[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Douwe-Is your mouse connected to a USB contact? Even if many mice have USB plugs, the PS/2 contact is still recommended, and your mouse might perform better on PS/2. I had slight problems with my Logitech MX-700 on USB, then bought an adapter and connected to PS/2, solved it...

Ah yeah, didn't think of that. My Logitech also made so weird problems on the USB, and it came with PS/2 adapter, and since connected to PS/2, it's working purrrrfectly.

Hello Word Not Allowed, Andrew, will try the connector. my mouse is yes indeed a USB one. although I have experiend the same problem using a connector.Tried the PMDG on a fresh (new windows install) lower system of a friend of mine wich i have at home for recovery (he doesn't know anything about computers)and the same problem apears while loading the aircraft. By the way I was using the same mouse. So i gues it's no my memeory or hard disc. Many programs in the background,..yes but on line flying takes a lot programs. When using msconfig i do not know what to clos. is it save or not is the program needed to run XP?Also for the programs running in the taskmanager.but I never had this problem before. that's what is frustrating me!!Im gona trie a few things, let you knowRegardsDouwe

Douwe, when "loading" the PMDG, the mouse WILL stutter. it stutters here too, and that is because it is loading. but after the AIRAC loading is complete, everything should be smooth again.

Another thing worth mentioning: I had my MX-700 mouse on USB first. Then bought a GF5900 vid card. After that, I got irritating clicks everytime I used the mouse wheel, and only using the sliders in IE and Outlook Express. This problem did not go away before I changed to a ATI9800XT vid card. ATI cards are way better built than GF`s...I think it was RFI (Radio Frequency Interference), due to the USB contacts sitting way too close to the vid card, and bad shielding against RFI on the vid card/USB contacts. The PS/2 contact are safe away from the vid card at least...Also the MX-700 obviously need a free line of sight to the receiver, if not it starts to glitch.

Andrew, Word Not Allowed , Randy,...It seem to work now,...What have I done,....Removed the newest driver from Nvidea. Installed an OLDER one. From the period that everything seems to work just fine.connected the mouse with PS/2 The stuttering while loading the aircraft is still there but more less (is that correct English?) It's a comfort to know that Im not the only one with stuttering while loading.Main thing; the hanging and jumping of the mouse seems to be gone,..............Seems to be,.. still testing but it's behaving normal now in flight. The idea of changing the Nvidea with ATI brougth me on the idea to pick an OLD driver. (nice to have back ups)Installing the old driver on the computer of my friend (wich I should repair) also gave improvement of mouse behaviour.Thank you all for your support.Preciate it a lot!!!I'm thinking of taking a CAT to be the pet :-))Bad mouse,...Eat em!!RegardsDouwe
