Spoke Too Soon!! Engine Failure at V1 737-700

Featured Replies

Well, I programmed a flight out of KSEA in the 700 and ended up with complete engine failure at V1. I never got to touch the yoke. Nothing different than usual as far as setup is concerned.Loaded 700 with EFIS style panel. (Continental)Did not start cold.Center tanks 1000 lbs, wing tanks 7500 lbsProgrammed FMC with standard route, no unusual flight patternsOverhead set properly, normal functionUsed TOGA as I always doHave resistered FSUIPC 3.212I didn't do anything different than before. I wish I knew why this was happening? :(ChrisGonna try again.....

Well it didn't fail on my second attempt. Also, I didn't have any weather on both times, I rarely do.I did used the PFD/ND this time, but I can't see how that would make a difference. Everything else was same as above.Only problem I had on this flight was descent in VNAV/LNAV. I had entered some soft altitude constraints for the FAF and waypoints into approach, however, when it began it's descent it slowing kept nosing down until it reached -5000 fpm. I had to kick VNAV so I could slow the speed and raise the nose. After I let it recapture it's path on the ND, I turned VNAV back on and it worked fine then. I'm not sure why this happened?Chris

I'm not sure. I've used the NG several times now without any problems since the 800/900 install, but today it just hit me for no reason. I though I was immune as well, however, whatever is causing it might be hard to elucidate for PMDG. I hope they can figure it out. It takes so long to plan a flight and program the FMC, even without the cold start option, that having it occur at V1 is just as bad as those CTDs. Tonights flight was a new one for me, as I just picked a couple of airports (KSEA --> KSLC) to fly. I made the route with an FAA IFR map and it had a lot of waypoints in it, lol. Just my luck. ;)Chris

Hi gents,I also recently started suffering engine failures on the PMDG737. I have had no problems at all since I had it, but I was showing a friend who was interested in it the different display types - the 'classic' and the EFIS. I have always flown with EFIS, and only after messing around with the display settings has it started. I had but engines cut around the V1 mark.Bryan

Each time I create a new FS9 flight (default is a 737-400 Std only with engines off, NOT cold and dark) with a PMDG 737, the fist time I takeoff with the new flight I experience the engines failure imediately after reaching V1.Andreahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
