2 Questions for PMDG

Featured Replies

Having recently purchased the 737/800/900 i have observed the following1.I Cannot get anything to display in the lower E.I.C.A.S ie, controll surface synoptics what have i not done correcty as ive tried the PMDG drop down menue? 2. At present it seems that it is not possible to fly a SID as well as haveing standard fs2004 atc cover because there is no way of exporting a flight plan from the FMC back to the fs flight planner once the sid has been added from the airac data base so it can be filed as a new flight plan with atc. If you want to fly IFR with a SID and ATC they will not recognise the sid as part of the flight plan obviously and terminate the flight plandue to deviation! An obvious fix to this would be an import export page in the FMC just like PSS did with their 747/777 is there any way this could be added in a patch becuase its an important issue for realism? Incorporated in to this would also have to be a converter from PLN. to RTE. which would also end the need to leave FS go in to the flights directory after creating a flight plan in the flight planner and dragging and dropping it in to that PLN. to RTE. utility which is a real pain! it could all be done from the cockpit.?PMDG please answer this post as it was posted previously and got no responsethankyou in advanceKavan

1.I Cannot get anything to display in the lower E.I.C.A.S The lower eicas is blank by default just as it is on the real NG.1] Right click on the upper eicas to pop up the lower.2] Push the MFD buttons either SYS or ENG to display the related information.2. There are limitations with the default ATC and I would certainly not call using FS's ATC realistic, for that one would use VATSIM or something else. In many airfields one is vectored around or out of the terminal area. I do not use FS's ATC so really cannot comment upon what it is capable of doing in regards to SIDS and STARS but I seriously doubt it will know these in a route plan. Maybe someone who uses a route planner can comment on this aspect. [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. One more note concerning the lower EICAS. If you are using the EFIS style displays the lower EICAs will be unavailable, switch to the PFD style. The buttons are located here,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/75430.jpg on the EFIS style they will say INOP[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. "I do not use FS's ATC so really cannot comment upon what it is capable of doing in regards to SIDS and STARS but I seriously doubt it will know these in a route plan."fs ATC will follow any plan that is in the default fs2004 flightplanner so if a plan can be exported from the PMDG fmc to the fs flightplanner once the sid has been added and then load the plan thats all that is required. I did this on every flight with my PSS 747-400 on every flight no problem because there was an export import capability in the fmc flight plan save page.ATC would then recognise the sid as part of the flight plan.I know that default atc is not particulaly realistic but many of us dont have access to online flying and have too make do.Kavan

thanks for the quick response on this QI had missed those buttonsKavan

I have found that the over/under EICAS display will use the lower DU, the 'normal' sytle EICAS doesn't use the lower DU. I don't know if Boeing sells EFIS/MAP Ng's with over/under EICAS displays :)
