HiNo such luck I'm afraid. I gave it a go but it still doesn't work. It looks like a may be faced with a total re-instal which is not a nice thought.Thanks anywayKev

Let me try to get this straight Kev!You can not even load FS with a default plane? Do you get to the Load Flight menu? Are you running in full screen mode? If so did you try this in windowed mode? Resolution? System specs?...You're not giving us much to work with...Regards,

My apologeesSince installing the PMDG 737 - 800/900 update I have not been able to use FS2004 at all. When I double click my desktop icon I get the Flight Sim Century of Flight Picture come up and I get a pop up asking me if I wan't to start HostSB.dll (this has always been the case and is not a problem) I have chosen both yes and no and it makes no difference. I then get another pop up asking if I want to start ViMaCore.dll. (this has also been happening for a while and I'm not sure why. FS9 has always crashed back to windows if I choose yes, but has previously always started without error if I choose No). Having chosen Yes or No the screen goes blank and I get the Mouse Icon in the centre (much larger than normal probably 800 x 600), the screen then flicks and drops back to Desktop. If I open up Task Manager there are no applications running. It may also be worth noting that I have not had any 2d panels on any default aircraft for some while. All add-on 2d panels worked fine.I am running Windows XP Pro Ver.2002, Service Pack 1, on an AMD AthlonXP 2600+, 2.08GHz, 1Gb RAM. The display adaptor is a WinFast®A350 MyVIVO. I'm not sure if there is another way to load it since my default plane is the Flight One Dream Fleet Archer. I believe it runs at 1024x8?? however without getting into the programme I don't know how to find out.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks in AdvanceKev

Hi KevWell, based upon your information I would say it's something else than the NG that makes your system fail.To get rid of the question about SBHost.dll you can include the following line in your fs9.cfg file. This files resides in C:Documents and settingsApplication DataMicrosoftFS9Open fs9.cfg in notepad and add the following: //Exchange the <> with square brackets as seen in the fs9.cfgSBHost.dll=1I've never heard of ViMaCore.dll but a search on the net gave this result:http://www.vistamaresoft.com/fs/ViMaCoreDown.htmlHave you updated it to version 2.0.3? It seems this version will support FS2004.Also try reinstalling DirectX as I've read this can be the cause when you can't even get through the splash screen. Direct X version 9.0b can be found here:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=enAlso I would strongly recommend you not to have any add-ons as your default plane. This will make it difficult in times like this. Better to take that extra couple of seconds to choose your favorite once FS is loaded. Also note that a lot of more advanced add-ons doesn't like being loaded as the default a/c i.e while FS itself is being initialized.Some small hints but I hope this will get you up and running,

Strangely enough it didn't start working until I'd added the HostSB line into the config file.I don't suppose your able to help with my 2D panel probelm. I have the following add on aircraft and they all work in 2D mode. Captain Sim 727, Flight One Archer, Flight One Meridian, PSS A320, PSS A330/340, PMDG 737 - 600, 700, 800, 900. The 737 does not work if I select 2D mode only but is does work in 2D mode if I select 2D and virtual aircraft.None of the default aircraft work inb 2D mode. I can see the tool tips pop up but I am just looking at a blank rectangle below the window view. All aircraft work in virtual mode. Any Ideas?Kev
