FMC using keyboard

Featured Replies

In PIC 767 and PSS 747 & 777 you could press a key or click on one of the corners of the fmc, then you could use the keyboard to enter data into the scratch pad. I can't find anything in the fmc manual about this. Does this mean that you have to use the mouse and click on the keypad to make entries?

Hello,On the right hand side of the FMC you'll see a dark/black bar click in the bar and you will be able to use your keyboard to do you FMC typing instead of clicking. You need to click again in the bar to deactivate your keyboard btw. If confused about the bar I am talking about you will see it on either side of the FMC they are both identical but only the right one will activate it for you.Hope this helps.Happy Flying!!!

Thanks, that will help. I know about having to deactivate. There were times with DF, PIC, PSS when I forgot, and what havic, HA!

Hi,is it also possible to enable keyboard for the function keys like DEP/APP , MENU, and the L and R LSK keys from the FMC?greetingsMark

You will need to sign your name on this forum, thank you. FYI, the area you are talking about that's located on the CDU (Control Display Unit) is called "The CDU Annunciator Panel"...[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
