May 16, 200422 yr I have a problem where I cannot see the flight levels and speed info in the LEGS page in the FMC. I enter a co-route at startup and go through the normal steps, but the info about flight levels and speed isn't showing. Do I have to enter all this manually? Will it make a difference if I'm using cycle 0504 for FSBuild and FMC but 0404 for the sid/star database?Thanks-Mikkel
May 16, 200422 yr Okay, I figured out my first question. I was using the program pln2rte to convert my flightplan so that I could enter it in the co-route, but that screwed up the flightplan. The way that fs9 saw the route and the way the FMC saw it differed, so I would get ATC telling me to get back on track...annoying. If I enter it manually it works fine, so that's what I will do from now on then.I have another question though. What do you guy's do for fuel planning?Thanks-Mikkel
May 16, 200422 yr MikkelFirst, The NG FMC and FS flight planner are two different animals. And the FS flight planner is far from any flight planner used in real life. You don't enter just a flight level as in the flight planner. The flight level is derived from your weight and possibly CI and any other restrictions that may apply on the route your flying. But your weight is the dominating factor that will give you your flightlevel. You don't enter flight levels manually on the LEGS page. If you do the FMC preparation by the numbers you will have the option of entering your flight level in the PERF INIT page I think it's on LSK 1R. There you will also be given your maximum altitude for this flight. Have you done the great tutuorials by Fred Calusen and Tim Metzinger? I can really recommend them if you want to learn how to fly this bird and the FMC in a good manner! DO a search for the names in the Library and you'll find the tutorials there. Be sure to get the latest version. Also there's a good fuel planner written by Ross Carlson. Do a search for that name on the forum and you'll find the link to his neat little program!Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
May 16, 200422 yr Thank you Mats for the reply. I figured out my problem. I was using FSBuild to make a flightplan, and then the program "pln2rte" to convert it into a format that the FMC could read. In this process some information was lost so that I would end up with two flightplans. Now I just enter the flightplan from FSBuild directly into the FMC and everything works fine.Thank you for the suggestion on the fuel planner, very neat indeed.-Mikkel
