first of all thanks for all your help this is for randy.randy iwent into device manager this is what it said primary ide device 1 dma available,transfer mode ultra dma mode5.secondary ide.device1 dma if available,current transfer-pio,mode is this secondary ide mean my second hardrive if this is the case it is 80gb hardrive with only fs2004 on it .secondary ide dosen't give me a option of changing to dma mode or do i have to go in to bios to change

Yes check your bios. Cannot help in your bios so I suggest you look at your motherboad manual. If you do not have one you can always download a copy online from the manufacturer. PIO mode will KILL your FPS for fs. I suggest if you cannot get the second one on DMA to move fs to the one that is.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
