Navdata

I downloaded the updated navdata cycle from PMDG - and Navadata - and after the data was installed - I was programming a flight into the FMC and in programming departing and arriving airports got errors in the data (something error in FIX line 171). Also the FMC displayed no Stars nor any SIDS. Any help would be Greatly appreciated. Will

Hi Will.I think you first could try to get the latest SID/STAR procedures that will match the current AIRAC cycle you downloaded. The "PMDG_Procedures_0405" can be downloaded here: http://home.sw.rr.com/filesherenow/page1.htmlThe error message means that there is an error in the SID/STAR file for the specific airport at line 171. When you get the err. msg then the FMC will not load any procedures. This can happen when the procedure file don't match with the airac cycle(can also be for other reasons, error in the file as mentioned)

Thanks - just to be sure I just re-installed the current cycle and at every airport when entering the POSINIT I get errors from the FIX and the FMC therefore will not load any procedures. Any suggestions - looks to me like the data is bad or the FMC is not able to recognize it. The FMC does show the current and correct cycle.ThanksWill

Are you sure that both the AIRAC 0405 and PMDG_Procedures_0405 are installed into the correct folder? You can also recheck that the files have gone to the correct locat:AIRAC:Take a look in fs9 folder (FS9)/FMCWP/NAVDATA: These files are dated 08.05.2004 (6 files).Procedures:Go to the (FS9)/PMDG/SIDSTARS folder, open one file and check that you have the current DAFIF cycle 0405. They are dated 13.05.2004

HiIf there is a fix missing in your AIRAC, and that particular fix is mentioned in a SID/STAR/TRANSITION file for the airport you are using, then ALL the SIDS/STARS/TRANSITIONS/RUNWAYS for that airport are NOT loaded into the FMC and render the airport unusable.I found this to be the case in a flight I was carrying out.I went through the SID/STAR file for the airport and found the offending fix mentioned in a couple of STARs. I could have deleted that fix from the STARs in the file (not the best thing to do).Rather than do that, I loaded an old AIRAC cycle into another aircraft (or FSNav) in order to find the fix mentioned and get it's Long/Lat. I then manually inserted it into the PMDG AIRAC database file.See my post :- http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchCheersGraham Laing

Yup - now I am using FS2002 on this machine - does that matter? But all of the right stuff is in the right place. Thanks

Just to be sure here is what I have and where it is:under FS2K2:Folder - FMCWP - with subfolder navdata = in navdata subfolder are 5 .txt files and 1 .dat file along with other subfolders Approaches, FlightPlans, SIDS, STARS (the files in the SIDS and STARS folder are .tr files)Folder PMDG - there is also a subfolder labeled SIDSSTARS that contains a lot of .txt filesNot sure this is correct - but it was the way it installedThanks againWill

Hi WillI don't have fs2k2, so I'm not shure if there is another installation routine there, but it seems to me that there is a messup in the FMCWP folder. This folder should only contain the NAVDATA subfolder. Which version of the 737NG are you running? 1.2 or 1.3? If nothing helps, you could try a re-install. Use the removal tool (can be found on the PMDG website) and then install the ac again. Make sure you have version 1.3

HiWhere can I get the latest SIDS/STARS 04/05The ones on the PMDG website are 04/04ThanksNigel
