Runway Lighting during the Day

Recommended Posts

Guest Heather 636

One of my associate pilots over at DC3 Airways asked a particular question which I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to myself, therefore, in his words:G'Day all. I am halfway into my DC3 rating flights and have come to 1204. This is a VOR approach in very marginal conditions - 2m visibility, low cloud and rain. Whilst the landing is ok (just), runway lights would make the runway appear out of the mist just a little bit earlier ! Does anyone know if, with FS2002, I can turn on runway lighting during the day ? Or is it just related to time irrespective of weather conditions ? Thanks. Richard. Thanks, for Richard and myself.HeatherThe propeller is there to keep the pilot cool. Think not? Watch how much you sweat when it stops unexpectedly. ;) http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d18e8077527c2cb.jpg

Hi Heather,I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the daytime runway lighting functions in concert with visibility settings. I don't believe you get daytime runway/approach lighting until you get down to One mile visibility or less.
