July 9, 200421 yr Hello everybody,I have a little problem with PMDG 737-700.Randomly, in every part of my flight A/P disegnages automatically and CWS mode (r or P) engages by itself. It happens during climb, takeoff, cruise, etc etc..I know what is CWS mode but I don't know why it engages automatically...I don't touch axes of my joystick, I disabled it also, but there's always the problem...I use Fs2004 with FsMetar to have real weather in my flight...I read old post about this argument but I was not able to find an answer to solve my problem...Another question...sometimes when I'm in cruise with LNAV and VNAV mode armed, VNAV disarmed automatically and I can't arm it again...when i tried to arm it FMC gave me the following message "Invalid CRZ ALT"...I don't know why...Thank you very much for your help...Bye.Marco
July 9, 200421 yr Make sure you have all required FMC data entered. I'm sure about this...In fact sometimes I can do a complete flight without problems.ByeMarco
July 13, 200421 yr Hi Marco, I to have the same problem as you describe. Are using a logitech joystick if so try this. I think I may have the answer for you. First go to the wingman web site www.wingmanteam.com/ and download the caffeine program. This will stop the sleep mode that is what causes the autopilot disengage. Now this is the trick that I have found. YOU must first start the joystick and then turn the caffeine program ON and then start flight sim. I think if flight sim is running first followed by caffeine something goes wrong. I have only tried this a couple of times but it appears to be working at this stage, I hope it works for you tooregards Rob

July 14, 200421 yr Hi Marco, I had the same problem and it still sounds like it's trying to stop the joystick from going into sleep mode-do you think? This can happen within windows -xp which can be disabled if need beregards Rob
July 14, 200421 yr There is only 2 reasons for your first issue, one, you are touching your conrols with the A/P engaged. All it takes is a slight movement. If you want to manually control the aircraft, touching or applying pressue to the control colume with tell the AFDS that you "have the aircraft". Two, you have a force feedback joystick and it's causing motion so the AFDS thinks that you are touching the controls and reverts to CWS. Solution (s)1. Do not touch the controls if the A/P is flying.2. Disable the force feedback feature on your control stick. VNAV never just "disconnects" without giving a CDU message in the scratchpad. What does this say? One cannot just plan a route without being active in what the AFDS is acually doing. One example is on descent, the FMC will not keep the target speed in the default PATH mode so if your speed hits the baber poll of is more than 15 knots fast @ 9999 VNAV will disconnect. Thing here is that you must slow the aircraft or go SPD DEScent. There of course are many more reasons for VNAV to disconnect but each one of these will display a FMC alerting message. July 14, 200421 yr Thank you all for your answers......I noticed another strange thing and I don't know if it can be related to my problem...Using Real World Weather (with FsMetar addon) barometric pressure and wind change very quickly and so my altitude is always wrong and the airplane gets instable (because of the wind changes, I think)...sometimes this is the case in which my A/P disconnect and CWS mode engages automatically...I remarks that my Joystick is disabled and so the Force Feedback too...Regards.Marco
