July 21, 200421 yr When I load SIDS and STARS from the latest data on the PMDG website, none of the SIDS and STARS have any altitude or speed constraints in them - I have to insert them myself. When I have loaded these before in A320 PIC they contain all of this detail. I thought the whole point of these was to make sure aircraft were at the right height at fixed points - Have I got something missing ? Also can I use the SIDS and STARS in A320 PIC with the PMDG FMC ?
July 21, 200421 yr Some SIDS/STARS are just routes and you have to enter them yourself. Also make sure you fill out the whole FMC (mostly the INIT PREF page) and enter the constraits last.Nick B.Continental Airlines 737NG Pilothttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg--AMD Athlon XP 3200+ @ 2.2 Ghz (Equal to 2.8 ghz)400W Power supply3x 80 mm Case FansSoyo VIA KT600 Dragon PlusnVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 mb2 x 512 PC400100 GB Western DigitalMicrosoft Sidewinder Precision 2
July 21, 200421 yr Hi, What's your name? (required by forum rules)>website, none of the SIDS and STARS have any altitude or speed>constraints in them - I have to insert them myself. I need specifics to check into this. What SIDs and/or STARs are you referring to? What waypoints in those SIDs/STARs do you think should have an altitude/speed restrictions? What is your source data?>Also can I use the SIDS and STARS in A320 PIC with the PMDG>FMC ?No, different format. You can convert them yourself by hand, one by one though.RegardsTerry
July 22, 200421 yr Hi,Name is Dave (sorry, first time I've used the forum and thought it put my name in automatically).SIDS out of Heathrow (EGLL) in particular Compton SID. Has anyone got Wobun SIDS yet ?Dave
July 22, 200421 yr Hello DaveHave you tried my EGLL file? available from Richard's Navdata Site and also my site here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.butler2...usefulfiles.htmsid star text files are placed into C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9PMDGSIDSTARSHope this helpsSimon
July 22, 200421 yr Hi Dave>SIDS out of Heathrow (EGLL) in particular Compton SID. Has>anyone got Wobun SIDS yet ?I do not have a plate on the Compton SID but it is in the DAFIF. I see WOD, CPT08, LON15, WOD05 and WOD46 all have altitude restrictions. What more are needed? As for WOBUN it is not in the DAFIF so I can not help there. BTW are you using my EGLL.txt file or one you got from www.navdata.at? RegardsTerry
July 23, 200421 yr Hi Terry and Simon,I have downloaded Simon's site but haven't had chance to use it yet - maybe the weekend. I get all my plates from Speedbird on line which gives all of the EGLL SIDS and STARS. Haven't got one with me but I'm sure the Wobun SID has a 6000 alt constraint at BUR.Dave
July 23, 200421 yr Hello DaveHope you have a good flight at the weekend, the sids are all included in my file complete with altitude constraints. Woburn restrictions are:- Cross BUR at or above 3000, LONd10 at or above 4000 and LONd16 at 6000.Simonhttp://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.butler2...usefulfiles.htm
July 23, 200421 yr Simon,Thanks, - Hopefully I will be having a real flight from Swindon to Newquay (in a PA38) but will try your SIDS soon.Dave
July 23, 200421 yr Simon,All is revealed - I downloaded your 737 600 SIDS and STARS but they don't include the alt constraints.Do the 800/900 ones work with the 600 or are these 'soft constraints' and therefore won't work.Dave
July 23, 200421 yr Hello DaveI thought I had made it clear on my site which ones to download but maybe not.I have kept a set of sidstars on there for pilots that have not got the 800/900 upgrade package. If you only have the 600/700 series, soft constraints that is "above at" or "below at" wont work and in the early days caused problems having the alt figure there. These sid stars do contain fixed constraints and does contain the 6000 restriction at LONd16 on the WOBUN sids.If you have upgraded to the 800/900, you should download the set 600/700/800/900 as advised on my site.If you download my file from the navdata site I have uploaded my 600/700/800/900 set to navdata and therefore includes soft constraints.Personally I would prefer not have information in the fmc that isnt active and could be misleading, thats why the soft constraints are missing from the 600/700only set.Simonhttp://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.butler2...usefulfiles.htm
