July 22, 200421 yr hi guys .. Im new to the forum ..Ive been having some trouble with framerates on pmdg not that my system is the best to run it .. but I am getting a new system in the next month .. however I really love aviation and cant stop using fs9 not even for a second .. The 737-800 is my favorite plane and now that I got the chance to fly it as close to realism as possible I really dont want to give it up .. my framerates go down to 5 most of time around detailed airports and my sliders are really back so that isnt it .. I even tried pulling back all my sliders just to check it out and well framerates didnt go any higher than 6.. and on non detailed airports it stays around 7.8 .. when I switch back to another plane default or any other freeware I get frames to about 19.8 on non detailed airports and around 10.2 - 12 on detailed (locked at 20 FPS) and when I switch to spot on pmdg it gains fps like never before also when I look sideways .. I dont use VC it would kill them all .. I defrag my system every sunday night and here are my current system specs .. P3 1.0ghz , 256 mb of ram , ATI Saphire Radeon 9200 - 128mb , Win XP ProI know , I know its a miracle I get 20 fps at non detailed airports but well if it gets em on any other why not on pmdg .. also when I switch views I get this cracking thats really disturbing .. here is my Sound Card , would like to know where to found the driver for it , exact link If anyone knows it .. Creative Sound Blaster Livewell Ive been wanting to post for sometime now that I got the chance have to ask for as much help as possible .. thanks everyoneJesseP.S. Im sure it has to do with the panel ... but I aint leaving it ..
July 22, 200421 yr Hello Jesse, As you might have guessed the PMDG's 737 is not a typical aircraft. There is a lot going on to run this advanced a sim so of course will require a faster machine to have at least the FPS you see with the default aircraft. I have a very fast rig now and enjoy very good frame rates but like everyone I get slow down in heavy traffic and weather. I really believe this is more a FS limitataion than it is the add-on themselves. As for you SoundBlaster issue, it is a well known issue. Please have a look here for a link I posted for new drivers http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=136&topic_id=58150&mesg_id=58150&page=2. You will have to locate your exact card since there are many types like 5.1 GAMER,MP3 LIVE! etc. I found my card number on the card itself so I leave that up to you. The link will give you what you need and hopefully will solve your issue as it did for me.Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
