Can a part 135 operator canel IFR?My wife was on a COA flight last night and most of the way throught he flight, they cancelled IFR and arrived VFR (It was a beautiful night)I was under the impressino that was a nogo. They could have flown a visual approach, but under IFR control and rules.Tim PPASEL

Hi,yes, why not ?If all applicable restrictions/requirements are met (visibility, equipment, minimum altitudes etc), the part 135 doesn't say IFR cannot be cancelled when carrying passengers. You can browse the FAR135 text, for example, at http://www.gofir.com/fars/part135/I didn't find a paragraph stating that cancelling IFR is not allowed.

Hi PPASEL,To add, yes they can but most of the organizations I know of have much more detailed company specific policies and procedures describing if and when a flight can cancel.
