August 21, 200421 yr WOW! I am amazed! The PMDG guys did an incredible job with this. The PMDG 737 indeed has FULL AUTOLAND.It will intercept the localizer, descend, flare and touchdown. All by itself. It's freaky to say the least! I didn't even realize that these guys at PMDG implemented Autoland!!! WOW!!!!I was eyeing the manual earlier and it mentioned that if you engage both APs for the approach the plane will use autland. I literally did a double take on that one!Great job they did!!I just tried at runway 22R at Newark and it worked like a charm. All I did was just disengage autothrottle and kill the throttle over the threshold ... and the plane landed itself.AP disengaged automatically at touchdown and I just steered the plane while autobrake was stopping the plane for me. Geez!! What is an airline pilot to do? Get bored the whole time?My instructor told me a joke: aircraft designers are trying to make an aircraft that can be flown by a human pilot and a dog. The pilot is supposed to feed the dog and the dog is supposed to bite the pilot if he tries to touch the controls.More screenies:http://www.thepilotlounge.com/images/aviat...toland/sc21.jpgIntercepting the glideslope for runway 22Rhttp://www.thepilotlounge.com/images/aviat...toland/sc22.jpgClouds, the 737 and the Manhattan skyline.http://www.thepilotlounge.com/images/aviat...toland/sc23.jpgShort final runway 22Rhttp://www.thepilotlounge.com/images/aviat...toland/sc24.jpgI just love the PMDG livery!http://www.thepilotlounge.com/images/aviat...toland/sc25.jpgThis is the AP flaring!! August 22, 200421 yr Nice shots. Actually the A/P will not disconnect on it's own but the A/T will. The A/P on the real NG will also not disconnect upon T/D. Glad you like the A/L, it was fun testing it to death ;-) did you also notice that when you select the second A/P it will only ARM until performing the confidence check passing 1500 RA? Pretty cool stuff.. Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith

P M D G's 747-400

coming to a runway near you
Caution! Pretty cool stuff..That is odd ... the second AP disengaged on touchdown ... At least the second AP light went off. The first one, indeed, was still on. The A/T I disengaged on my own right before touchdown ... I didn't know if A/L would take care of it or not and I didn't want to touch the ground with the engines still going ...
