start-up problems

Hello. Am here again for help. I recently suffered a HD meltdown..but hey, it allowed me to do some serious upgrading>>>.Anyway, I have spent the past 2 days downloading all of my past favorites and setting up MSFS2004. But I have a minor problem. Am sure it has been asked before, so i apologize ahead of time here...1- I selected PDMG and cold and dark cockpit in select a flight...it still opens at the gate with engines running and ready to go. 2- when I do get to the gate and a start up, it is paused...didn't have this before. Thanks for the help. I upgraded to a AMD athlon 64 3400, 1MB of DDR400 RAM, and kept my nVidia 5700 Ultra card....tonights flight from KATL to KTPA was at 65FPS. was only at 25 while at TPA with the FlyTampa scenery.Any other pointers...feel free to include them...I need all the help I can get...Thanks again...Bill

Cut the engines to off then re-save the cold & dark situation. I believe this should do the trick. Don't understand your second question. Are you loading a saved flight situation here?
