August 27, 200421 yr Hi!Maybe this isn't the correct place to post this, but since most 737 buffs hang around here I'll give it a try! Recently saw a short segment about the 737-800 on a swedish tv motorshow called prestanda (a swedish and quite terrible version of the wonderful topgear show) and they went on about how expensive aircraft stuff were, for example just the wall-holder to the stewards intercom phone was something like $2000, as were just one overhead bin handle. An LCD screen for the IFE was something like $28000!!! :( I mean a/c stuff is expensive but that? Does anyone know if those prices are even close to the truth?

August 27, 200421 yr for the IFE PTVs, they have to be low voltage, create low heat, yet still be vibrant and of decent picture quality.they also have to be really hard waring.plus there's all the testing that goes with them, airworthiness certificates and all that.

August 27, 200421 yr I heard they would make the pilots use the smoke goggles and oxygen masks at a permanent basis so they could leave out the windshields too! :-hah RgdsKevin
