August 29, 200421 yr Hi Flightsimmers!I have a question about something I could not handle though looking up all the availible manuals...How can I programm the FMC that the waypoint has to be overflown first before turning? :-zhelpThe Airbus CDU has just a small button called "OvFy" with a triangle on it to insert it to the desired waypoint... but in the PMDG 737NG I couldn't make it up! Please help! x(I have got another question:How can I remove one of these route-discontinuities that are automatically inserted when deleting a specific point? When I try to insert the next waypoint into the discontinuity I just get the FMC "ping" sound and another message like "DISO inserted after XXX" but with no effect on the flightplan... :-newburnLast Question:Where could I find any infos how to use the ACARS in the 800/900? - 'cause the FMC Manual V14 still says "ACARS not modelled" though it IS modelled! Thanks a lot, keep flying :-coolJohanneshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/89592.jpg
August 30, 200421 yr Hi Johannes,The answer to your first question is that is it not possible for the pilot to enter over-fly waypoints not in the real deal, and not in the PMDG NG. The only way is to program it in the terminal procedures.(This is where over-fly waypoints are mostly used anyway.)Your procedure to close up DISCOs seems to be correct. CLick the LSK corresponding to the waypoint below the DISCO to get it down to the scratch pad and then click the LSK corresponding to your DISCO. If it is possible to connect these two with a continuous path not violating any rules (climb/descent angles, speeds, altitude constraints and so on) this will close the DISCO. If the DISCO can't be closed you are trying to feed an impossible path to the FMC. ;-) Could you please post the route you are having trouble with? The only items modelled in the ACARS on the PMDG is OUT/OFF/ON/IN times i.e time when leaving gate, time airborne, time landed and time docked to gate.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
August 30, 200421 yr Well, first thanks Mats! The route I had a problem with was yesterday on the IVAO World Tour from Darwin/Australia (YPDN) to Port Moresby/Papua New Guinea (AYPY). The PMDG did not have any Star for AYPY, so I tried to programm the arrival manual by inserting the waypoints I looked up in the arrival charts. The PY VOR is located at the airport and the IAF, from there you should turn left and fly on course 343 13NM outbound, then turn left f
August 30, 200421 yr Hi,The "waypoint overflying" is a long debated topic. You can search for answer #58219 in this forum. All the best.Dino Giannasi
August 31, 200421 yr Hi Dino, thanks for your tip, but where can I find answer #58219 in this forum, I wasn't able to find it neither with simple search nor with advanced search...Smile,Johanneshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/89749.jpg
