August 30, 200421 yr I just went to "Routefinder" (what a great service!) and asked for a flightplan from KIAD to KBOS. Using FSnavigator 4.6, I plotted the flightplan on FSNav's moving map and entered the waypoints, saved it, exported it to FS2004 and to PMDG successfully, and just loaded it into the FMC of the NG. On the FMC RTE page, however, it says in the scratch pad "Err at 3, line 104"I had observed that the third waypoint of the Routefinder flightplan asked me to fly a leg from isec MICAH almost backwards, at a ridiculous turn angle of 151 degrees, to LARRI; and I wondered if I was therefore receiving an advisory from the PMDG FMC that this is an incompatible or erroneous leg? When I deleted LARRI from the flightplan, the error message went away.Appreciate any advice or clarification on this, thanks!Jonathan Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
August 30, 200421 yr Hi, Jonathan!Just a thought on my part, but could be that LARRI isn`t in PMDG nav data? Easy to check. Open FMC, go to the NAV DATA page and enter LARRI into the top right column. (Don`t remember what the "heading" is, but it is to the right of NAVAID. If FMC comes back unknown or somesuch, then LARRI is not in your database. As a general note, this may happen because the different services out there don`t always update their data at the same time, sometimes these sig-points changes names, some are deleted, others are brand new. Airways may also change names as an AIRAC comes around. My take is that the AIRACs for PMDG are on the ball, but not so sure about the others.AIRAC is actually an acronym for Aeronautical Information Regulation And Control. A system to ensure that such changes take effect on set dates, and that the changes are promulgated to all users in good time so that they can update their information and databases. AIRAC dates always falls on a Thursday, normally once a month. Next AIRAC date is September 2nd. Incidentally, September 04 har two AIRACs, another one on the 30th.Cheers,Kjell.
