September 1, 200421 yr Would any of the developers be willing to answer this? Particularly are some of the settings hard wired to start up in a particular state regardless of their position when the flight was saved?
September 1, 200421 yr The start levers always are at idle on purpose: this was done in order to prevent an error message on the overhead. Previous versions did give you a c&d cockpit with levers at cutoff, but this resulted in problems.Engine bleeds are always left on in real life. You cannot save the c&d with them off.I also get a standby power off everytime: another thing that isn't saved. Don't know why on this one... So the first things on my checklist is to put it on Auto.My engines never start when I move to another airport, so... can't help you there...
September 1, 200421 yr Jeroen,Thanks for your insite. I suspected some of these issues were PMDG workarounds, but I remain curious about your "bleeds always left on in real life" comment. My checklist shows them being verified OFF on the cockpit acceptance and remaining off until bleeds and packs come during the after start checklist. All Bleeds go off again on the secure/shutdown checklist. Is the checklist wrong, or is that procedure just not followed in real life? Thanks,
September 3, 200421 yr In a previous topic of mine someone (a B737-300 First Officer - Real Life!) said this:"Engine bleeds are left ON at all times unless required to be off due to performance or emergency conditions."Here's the link to that specific post:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=62481&page=7You might also want to read the entire topic.I read the same on other forums and in other topics, so...Don't forget that the ENG bleeds are automatically off when the engines are off (well, okay, the switches remain on but the bleeds are doing nothing because the engines are off, which is quit logical...)
September 3, 200421 yr Hi,1.This drives me nuts as well - I've tried all the shutting down procedures and then saved the flight, only to find that when I relaod the flight it hasn't shut down.2.My engines always start (FS2002) when I move airports and even more of a nuisance - I tried loading the Seattle C&D as recommended and then moved to Heathrow - only to find that my aircraft is positioned about 200 ft up in the air.3.Also if I try using the slew command with PMDG, the aircraft tries to fly (with the engines running) and I can't stop it.4. Also if I land at an airport and shut down, when I restart it the FMC still contains the prevous flight even if I have turned off all of the electrics. Doess anyone know how to clear the FMC please ?5.Lately I also keep getting an error message (green banner/red writing) saying that 'the COG is out of limits and the plane is unflyable' - I ignore it and it seems to fly Ok after climb out. Any ideas what might be casuing this please?6.Even though I set 2500 ft on the MCP before my TOD, I still get a message saying either that 'Drag required' or 'Descent path Unachievable' - any suggestions please ?Sorry this is lots of questions, but everytime I try to fly this otherwise excellent plane - I seem to get a different problem. The help this forum provides is much appreciated.Dave

Previous>versions did give you a c&d cockpit with levers at cutoff, but>this resulted in problems.I never experienced any problems with start levers cutoff position. PMDG never made an explanation about this issue, I think they are just forgetting it idle position while preparing cold&dark cockpit situation.
